In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Companies Act 2006, we have prepared for your approval the abbreviated accounts of R D Bowen Property Ltd for the year ended 31 March 2014 which comprise of the balance sheet and the related notes from the company’s accounting records and from information and explanations you have given us. |

This report is made solely to the Board of Directors of R D Bowen Property Ltd, as a body, in accordance with the terms of our engagement letter dated 20 March 2013. Our work has been undertaken solely to prepare for your approval the accounts of R D Bowen Property Ltd and state those matters that we have agreed to state to the Board of Directors of R D Bowen Property Ltd, as a body, in this report in accordance with AAF 2/10 as detailed at icaew.com/compilation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than R D Bowen Property Ltd and its Board of Directors as a body for our work or for this report. |
It is your duty to ensure that R D Bowen Property Ltd has kept adequate accounting records and to prepare statutory accounts that give a true and fair view of the assets, liabilities, financial position and loss of R D Bowen Property Ltd. You consider that R D Bowen Property Ltd is exempt from the statutory audit requirement for the year. |

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions in Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006 applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime. |

Accounting policies |
|
|
Basis of preparation |
|
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008). |

Turnover |
|
Turnover represents the value, net of value added tax and discounts, of goods provided to customers and work carried out in respect of services provided to customers. |
|
|
Going Concern |
|
Notwithstanding the net assets deficiency , the financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis as in the opinion of the director the company has sufficient financial support from its creditors and shareholders to pay its debts as they fall due. |

Investment Properties |
|
In accordance with SSAP 19 investment properties are revalued annually and any surplus or deficit is transferred to the revaluation reserve. No depreciation is provided in respect of investment properties. This treatment conflicts with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 that all properties should be depreciated. The directors consider that because these properties are not held for consumption but for their investment potential, it is necessary to adapt the requirements of SSAP 19 in order to give a True and Fair view. Leasehold investment properties will be subject to periodic charges for depreciation on the basis set out in SSAP 12 when the unexpired term of the lease is 20 years or less. |
