1Accounting Policies

Basis of measurement and preparation of accounts
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities effective April 2008.

Other accounting policies
Investment Policy
The company has no restrictions on its powers of investment. The policy is to invest in cash deposits and Common Investment Funds suitable for charities, so as to seek to balance capital and income growth across a broadly diversified portfolio.
Grant Policy
Grants are available for academic, sporting or musical purposes for children in Herefordshire between the ages of 5 and 11. They are intended to assist children whose families would not otherwise be able o afford an activity or resource. In the case of applications from schools they are intended to purchase resources in connection with a particular project. Application forms are to be completed and the maximum grants that will normally be permitted are £250 for individuals and £2000 for schools.
Reserves Policy
The directors review the level of reserves on a continuing basis.

Company is limited by guarantee and consequently does not have share capital.

3Fixed assets Investments
Investments are stated at market value at the balance sheet date. Any gain or loss on revaluation is taken to the Statement of Financial Activities (SOFA).
