1Accounting Policies

Basis of measurement and preparation of accounts
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities effective April 2008.

Turnover policy

Tangible assets depreciation policy
one twentieth of the original cost to be written down annually.

Intangible assets amortisation policy
not applicable

Other accounting policies
a) Income recognition
Session Donations
Income received through session donations, gift aid and other occasional gifts is recognised
when received by the ministry

Gift Aid
Gift Aid recoverable where applicable in respect of donations under gift aid is accrued during the
year in which the income arises, any amount of tax not reclaimed and recovered by the year end
is included in debtors.

b) Expenditure recognition
All expenditure is included in the Income and Expenditure Account on an accruals basis as a
liability is incurred. The VAT element of expenditure cannot be recovered and is reported as part
of the expenditure to which it relates.

c) Fund Accounting
The company has various types of funds for which it is responsible, and which require separate
disclosure. These are as follows:

General funds are available to use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the objects of
the charity.

Designated funds are subjected to the boundaries on their expenditure given by the donor. The
Company does not have any designated funds.

d) Cash flow statement
The company has taken advantage of the exemptions available to small companies within this
standard and has not prepared a cash flow statement.
