| The following reproduces the text of the report prepared for the directors in respect of the company's |
| annual unaudited financial statements, from which the unaudited abbreviated accounts (set out on |
| pages three to five) have been prepared. |
| In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Companies Act 2006, we have prepared for your |
| approval the financial statements of H.I. Drake Limited for the year ended 30 April 2016 which comprise |
| the Profit and Loss Account, the Balance Sheet and the related notes from the company's accounting |
| records and from information and explanations you have given us. |
| As a practising member firm of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), we are subject to its ethical and other professional requirements which are detailed within the ICAEW's regulations and guidance at http://www.icaew.com/en/membership/regulations-standards-and-guidance. |
| This report is made solely to the Board of Directors of H.I. Drake Limited, as a body, in accordance with our terms of engagement. Our work has been undertaken solely to prepare for your approval the financial statements of H.I. Drake Limited and state those matters that we have agreed to state to the Board of Directors of H.I. Drake Limited, as a body, in this report in accordance with ICAEW Technical Release 07/16AAF. | 1. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
| Accounting convention |
| The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by |
| the revaluation of certain assets and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for |
| Smaller Entities (effective January 2015). |
| Turnover |
| Turnover represents net invoiced sales of services, excluding value added tax. |
| Investment property |
| Investment property is shown at most recent valuation. Any aggregate surplus or deficit arising |
| from changes in market value is transferred to a revaluation reserve. |
| Stocks |
| Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value, after making due allowance for |
| obsolete and slow moving items. |
| Going concern |
| The company's cash flow requirement for the twelve months from the date of approval of these |
| financial statement has been considered by the directors. On the basis of this information the |
| directors have formed a judgement at the time of approving these financial statement that there |
| may be periods when the company's cash flow requirements exceed funds available. However, the |
| directors expect to continue to support the company as has been done in the past. On this basis the |
| directors consider it appropriate to prepare the financial statement on the going concern basis. The |
| financial statements do not include any adjustments that would result from a withdrawal of support |
| by the directors. |
