1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

ACCOUNTING CONVENTION
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective January 2015).

PREPARATION OF CONSOLIDATED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
The financial statements contain information about Canon Street Properties Limited as an individual company
and do not contain consolidated financial information as the parent of a group. The company has taken the option
under Section 398 of the Companies Act 2006 not to prepare consolidated financial statements.

TURNOVER
Turnover represents net invoiced sales of goods, excluding value added tax.

TANGIBLE FIXED ASSETS
Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life.

Freehold property - 2% on cost
Motor vehicles - at varying rates on cost
Equipment - 20% on cost

INVESTMENT PROPERTY
Investment property is shown at most recent valuation. Any aggregate surplus or deficit arising from changes in
market value is transferred to a revaluation reserve.

STOCKS
Work in progress is valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value.

Cost includes all direct expenditure and an appropriate proportion of fixed and variable overheads.

DEFERRED TAX
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance
sheet date.

FOREIGN CURRENCIES
Assets and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the
balance sheet date. Transactions in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rate of exchange ruling at
the date of transaction. Exchange differences are taken into account in arriving at the operating result.

PENSION COSTS AND OTHER POST-RETIREMENT BENEFITS
The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the company's pension
scheme are charged to the profit and loss account in the period to which they relate.

INVESTMENTS
Investments in subsidiaries are stated at the lower of cost and net realisable value.

OPERATING LEASE RECEIVABLES
Rentals receivable under operating leases are credited to the profit and loss account as incurred.
