| Accounting convention |
| The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in |
| accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April |
| 2008). |

| Turnover represents net invoiced sales of services, excluding value added tax. |

| Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but |

| Hire purchase and leasing commitments |
| Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to the profit and loss account on a |
| straight line basis over the period of the lease. |
| Freehold property |
| No depreciation has been provided on the freehold property, as the annual impairment |
| review revealed that the net realisable value of the property was well in excess of its cost |
| price at the balance sheet date. The policy is a departure from the specific requirement |
| of the Companies Act 2006 to provide depreciation on any fixed asset which has a |
| limited useful economic life. The departure from the Companies Act 2006 requirements is |
| for the overriding purpose of giving a true and fair view. |
