  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation of accounts

    The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets.

    Turnover policy

    Turnover represents net invoiced sales of goods, excluding VAT.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Depreciation is provided, after taking account of any grants receivable, at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life:- Plant and Machinery - 10% on cost Fixtures and Fittings - 10% on cost Motor Vehicles - 20% on cost. No depreciation is provided on freehold land and buildings.

    Other accounting policies

    Pension costs - contributions in respect of the company's defined contribution pension scheme are charged to the profit and loss for the year in which they are payable to the scheme.
