COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

BRAVE BOLD DRAMA COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Company Number: 10708381 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 April 2023

Company activities and impact

We toured our playable family theatre show The Munch Mission to 16 venues, giving 21 performances between May-August 2022. 3 of these performances were free of charge and happened in wards experiencing high levels of deprivation in Bristol (BS13) and Somerset.Toured playable family theatre show The Midnight Mission to 8 venues giving 11 performances. One of these was free of charge and presented in a youth club in south Bristol in an area experiencing high levels of deprivation (BS13).Bristol Museums commissioned us to create three free to access family art trails using art displayed at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery. These are free to access in person and are also available free of charge online. Two of these trails were launched during this reporting period.Bristol City Council commissioned us to work on a free creative forest school project for children experiencing social anxiety. This culminated in a free-to-access sound walk made entirely with sounds the children recorded and is still free to access to the public which was launched in May 2022.We programmed and delivered 9 family art days at Hartcliffe Community Centre, providing live professional performances and free creative workshops for families living in BS13, an area that experiences high levels of deprivation. We made four boxes of a multi-sensory creative resource called SpringTime for care homes in Spring 2022. This is for use 1-2-1 with carers or family members and people living with dementia. There is no cost to care homes for borrowing this resource. We delivered a Bronze Arts Award course at Hartcliffe Club for Young People, which ran over 4 months weekly and there was no charge to the participants. All passed and gained an additional qualification.

Consultation with stakeholders

We had 3 directors on the board during this period: Gillian Simmons, Paul Lawless and Katie Chalk. We met on a weekly basis with at least 2 directors present to plan company activity, discuss new ideas for how to reach other vulnerable groups in the immediate area of Hartcliffe and Withywood and to share knowledge about new contacts we may have made throughindividual networking. We received feedback and suggestions from the community during this period through word of mouth, from people attending events we were running, and through social media feedback.

Directors' remuneration

Katie Chalk received no remuneration during this period as she gained a full-time PAYE job elsewhere and was able to volunteer her time to us. The other directors, Gillian Simmons and Paul Lawless, received monthly remuneration from grants secured by the company to facilitate creative activities or give performances. These were paid in a freelance capacity, so these two directors invoiced the company only when there were grants secured by the company when these grants included freelance artist fees for those directors to deliver that activity.

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
