Company activities and impact

The 2022/2023 year saw the continual growth of the 3 elements to Summit Good - EAT / DO / GROW.Eat Summit Good saw the site deliver 1300 veg boxes to local families and individuals in our community. The CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) scheme continues to grow nutrient dense fruit and veg free from any chemicals, pesticides or preservatives. We re-introduced 30 chickens in Nov 2022 to include eggs alongside the fruit and veg offering from the site. The CSA scheme employs one part-time grower Amy who has now completed her 2nd full season on the site.Do Summit Good saw us continue to deliver the Men's Shed on the site every Thursday, seeing a great range of local men popping in to engage with the different activities run each week. The group has developed a core team to continue to engage with all the shedders and tackle social isolation and loneliness with men in our community. Suicide is still the biggest killer for men in the UK so we see this element of the organisation crucial to tackling local issues within our community.Grow Summit Good saw us support 8 different local enterprises from our site - facilitating their activities and workshops in shipping containers and giving the projects space to run sessions with schools and grow more food. The site opened up for a couple of community open days to allow for local community to see and talk with all the different projects on the site. The open days allowed us to show local MP's, councillors and the Mayor all the amazing projects and enterprises flourishing on the site.We have also spend much of the 2022 winter progressing the new site with 3000 trees being planted over at Brynbori farm and 300 apple trees getting ready for the 2023 planting.
