The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008).
Turnover
The turnover shown in the profit and loss account represents amounts invoiced during the year.
In respect of long-term contracts and contracts for on-going services, turnover represents the value of work done in the year, including estimates of amounts not invoiced. Turnover in respect of long-term contracts and contracts for on-going services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion.
Investment properties
The freehold properties are classified as investment properties in accordance with Statement of Standard Accounting Practice 19.
The property was acquired in April 2003 and renovation work was completed in November 2003. The costs thereof in total was £109,674. The Directors have been advised by their mortgagor that in their view the value of the property in December 2006 for lending purposes was at least £180,000. No depreciation is provided in respect of this property as in the Directors' opinion this is only one of the factors reflected in its market value as at 31 March.Fixed Assets
All fixed assets are initially recorded at cost.
Financial Instruments
