1. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
Basis of preparing the financial statements |
The directors have decided that they will continue to prepare the financial statements for the company on the same |
basis as they have always done despite the issuing of technical factsheet 172 by the Association of Chartered |
Certified Accountants in October 2011 in relation to Residential Service Charge Accounts and FRED 50 - Draft |
FRC Abstract 1 - Residential Management companies financial statements, which was issued in August 2013. this |
decision has been made in light of the fact that these publications are only guidance and not yet mandatory, and the |
directors consider the costs associated with implementing the adoption of this guidance to disproportionate in light |
of the company's resources. |
The directors will keep this matter under review for future years. |
Accounting convention |
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the |
Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008). |
Turnover |
Turnover represents the amounts contributed by each resident/flat owner towards the costs of the company in |
respect of the insurance and maintenance of the communal parts of the property. |
Tangible fixed assets |
Freehold land | - |
The tangible asset owned by the company is the freehold interest in the land and buildings at Norton court, |
Birmingham Road, Marlbrook, Bromsgrove. |
The directors assess annually the need to provide for any impairment in the recoverable amount below cost of the |
company's freehold interest. |
Deferred tax |
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance |
sheet date. |
