Balance sheet statements

Company activities and impact

PiCL have delivered a large number of projects for the benefit of the community, specifically in Stoke on Trent. We continue to be part of Appetite, an Arts Council England funded, Creative People and places programme, a consortium project getting more people inspired and engaged with arts as well as Art City, an artist led programme, opening up empty spaces for original creative activity in Stoke on Trent and Newcastle under LymePiCL has been instrumental in the development of Stoke on Trent’s cultural education partnership, working with partners across the city to work on a great cultural learning offer for children and young people in the area and making plans to merge activity for 2023-24We have directly delivered the following projects. Loving Learning Through Creativity – Funded by Arts Connect and Stoke on Trent City Council we are working with a number of schools to deliver arts activities with artists in school. Future Hopes: A film created with and for young people to share, understand and communicate their hopes for their area and future. This film is the starting point for a discussion race, equity and inclusion and is followed up with workshops and resources designed and created by young people. Children in Need: We have further funding to deliver parent and toddler creative activity to support reading in some of Stoke on Trent and Newcastle under Lymes most deprived neighbourhoods.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders include artists, community organisations, teachers and young people. We consulted with young people through Future Hopes and Loving Learning We worked with local playgroups and parents in the design of the creative reading activity. The the cultural education partnership and other consortia, informs the projects and programmes we design and are involved in. There are made up of partners and stakeholders from all fields. A representative also sits on Stoke Creates, a Cultural Compact for Stoke.
