For the year ended 31 October 2022 the company was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

Directors' responsibilities:

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its accounts for the year in question in accordance with section 476.
The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These financial statements have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime and in accordance with the provisions of Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006. In accordance with Section 444 of the Companies Act 2006, the income statement has not been delivered to the Registrar of Companies.

The members have agreed to the preparation of abridged accounts for this accounting period in accordance with section 444(2A).

The directors' of the company have elected not to include the Income Statement within the financial statements.

General Information

HMA Trading Limited is a company limited by shares and is incorporated in England and Wales. The address of the registered office is 54 Hagley Road, Birmingham, West Midlands, B16 8PE. The nature of the company's operations and its principal activity was that of an online retailer.

Accounting policies

Significant accounting policies

The company's financial statements have been prepared in compliance with Section 1A of FRS 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland' and the Companies Act 2006.

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and on a going concern basis. The financial statements comprise the unaudited financial statements of the company up to 31 October, and are stated in pound sterling, the company's functional and presentational currency.

The principal accounting policies applied in the preparation of these financial statements are set out below, these policies have been applied consistently to all the years presented, unless otherwise stated.

Turnover

Turnover comprises the value of goods and services supplied by the company.

Taxation

A current tax liability is recognised for the tax payable on the taxable profit of the current and past periods. A current tax asset is recognised in respect of a tax loss that can be carried back to recover tax paid in a previous period.

Stocks

Stocks are measured at lower of cost and estimated selling costs to complete and sell. Cost is determined using the first in first out method. The carrying amount of stock sold is recognised as an expense in the period in which the related revenue is recognised.
