IGNITE ME WORKSHOP THEATRE C.I.C.

Directors' report period ended 31 July 2022

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 July 2022

Principal activities of the company

The principal activity of the company during the period was providing drama workshops and participatory theatre performances to those persons concerned with issues of disabilities in the Richmond community and the surrounding Boroughs. During the period we created and worked in new partnerships. We were recovering from the impact that COVID had on our organisation and planning for the future. In 2021 we produced a Zoom film about Disability Hate Crime which was shown at an event run by Inclusion London. We appeared in person at a Hate Crime event hosted by Multicultural Richmond where we showed the film, called Can You save Jason? We made another film with Camden Disability Action about the Greenwood Centre and the issues Disabled people were experiencing. That project finished in March 2022. We produced an online play for UK Disability History Month where the audience met important figures in the Disability Rights Movement. We also created an in-person show called Unheard Voices, a series of monologues based on lived experience, which had two performances: The Lyric, Hammersmith and Hampton Hub.

Company policy on disabled employees

Equality and Diversity lies at the heart of what we do and we have shared our new Equality and Diversity Policy with our facilitators.
