Additional information

In the reporting year 2020-2021, Rape Crisis Grampian face challenges unlike any before. Our proudest achievement of this difficult year have been our continued viability in such a challenging context and all the apparently small (yet significant) ways we have gone above and beyond to safeguard, support and empower those for whom we have a duty of care - including those who use our service, our staff and our volunteers. From the creation of delivery of 'Wellbeing' packs to homes across the North East, to adapted online group work sessions and other means of remote support, the work RCG undertook in the reporting has been described by those we support as 'life saving.'Internally, management, staff and volunteers collaborated creatively to put support systems in place that protected staff wellbeing whilst also providing flexibility around increased demand at homes such as child-care.All in all, this combined approach created a structure from which RCG could continue operations and prove itself immeasurable resilient and adaptable - showing that our service can survive, even thrive, no matter the challenges encountered. In the reporting year our referrals continue to increase, despite the lockdown restrictions. Our service continues to officer support women, men and non-binary individual agenda 13+, across our main and Young Persons' Support services. Impressively, we were still able to reach 100's of secondary school students across the North Each with an online adapted version of our visual Prevention work, by working collaboratively with the National team to brainstorm how the service would be adapted, and together with schools to ensure proper facilitation and support for pupils experiencing difficulty.
