COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

URBAN PURSUIT C.I.C.

Company Number: 07848176 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 August 2021

Company activities and impact

The company works with schools and other organisations to help reduce school exclusion rates and improve the life chances of those who have already been excluded from the mainstream school system. We deliver programs of personal and social development through a wide range of adventure activities and adrenaline sports. In the year ending 31st August 2021 we worked with around 250 young people across the Bristol area and we saw significant positive outcomes for the young people and their families. Outcomes included improved school attendance, reduced exclusions, improved behaviour, and better academic performance. Lots of young people experiencing significant issues due to the pandemic were helped to remain engaged during long seasons of social isolation.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our key stakeholders are the schools and other education organisations, the students and their families. We consult with the schools prior to the start of any programme and go through in detail with them the background of the student to ensure that the programme is tailored to the student. We hold frequent reviews of the students on our programs both with the students themselves and the referring schools/organisations. Our programs are continuously evolving in terms of the format, the curriculum, and to suit the needs of growing numbers of young people we work with from an increasing number of referring bodies in the community.
