Basis of preparing the financial statements |
The financial statements are prepared in pounds sterling, which is the functional currency of the company. |
Going concern |
The directors have a reasonable expectation that the company has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus, the directors continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements. The company has recognised and treated the COVID-19 pandemic as posing a significant risk to the health and safety of individuals working in the company, and has actively sought to utilise the government schemes launched in support of businesses in the UK as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. |
Turnover |
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. |
Turnover represents net invoiced sales of goods, excluding value added tax, except in respect of service contracts where turnover is recognised when the company obtains the right to consideration. |
Tangible fixed assets |
Tangible fixed assets are stated at historical cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. |
Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life. |
