Objectives and aims |
The Objects of the charity are; |
To relieve, without limitation, the distress, suffering and poverty of women and girls and their children, who have or are still suffering from all forms of domestic abuse by providing specialist support services. |
To promote the provision of services directed towards the prevention of domestic abuse. |
To support persons who have suffered. |
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE |
Charitable activities |
Over the last year, charities across the country have faced a tsunami of challenges as the coronavirus pandemic continued to wreak havoc on the economy and disrupted everything from charity service delivery to regular fundraising efforts. It cannot be underestimated the impact that the pandemic had on the growth of our new charity. However, we survived and were able to attract a small amount of funding as well as a volunteer base. |
The year 2021-22 was utilized to develop strategy and to strengthen partnerships within the sector, and I am pleased to say we have successfully developed both. LDAS 2006 has developed progressive partnerships with experienced voluntary sector organizations to support the training of our volunteer cohort as well as providing office space and equipment. Our volunteer cohort has been trained to deliver one to one emotional and practical support and to ensure correct referral pathway is followed effectively to ensure the safety of the survivor and their children at all times. |
On behalf of the trustees I would like to thank our volunteer cohort and our partners Health Energy Advice Team for all their support and efforts during the last 12 months, you have been amazing. |
FUTURE PLANS |
A funding strategy has also been developed for future expansion and is being implemented to attract funding to employ management and staff. |
