RAPE CRISIS GRAMPIAN

Directors' report period ended 31 March 2022

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 March 2022

Principal activities of the company

Objectives of the Charity and Principal ActivityThe charity's objective and its principal activity in the year under review was that of providing confidential support, information and counselling for anyone age 13 years and older, who has experienced sexual violence and or rape at any time in their lives; and to raise public awareness of such issues.

Additional information

Restrictions made it difficult to engage seldom-heard communities, and we value accessibility, inclusion and equity. Thus as soon as was possible, we were eager to re-engage with outreach activities and so we established a pilot of our "equalities" role. This work has newly commenced but we are already proud to report collaborative working with local street pastors, Prison services, Grampian Region Equalities Council, our local Council Hub services, LGBTQ+ communities, young people and North East Sensory Services.Perhaps our proudest achievement is the growth in our capacity as a service. At the beginning of the pandemic we had 9 members of staff, and now at the end of the reporting period we have 21 team members working across 24 different posts! We owe this success to the combined effort of our Management team who have tirelessly pursued funding, to meet an ever-increasing demand, and have achieved great success in this effort. Funding is the life-blood of our service provision, and so this effort is worth recognising.Ms A BrodieDate: 8th December 2022
