About The Urban Mindfulness FoundationThe Urban Mindfulness Foundation (UMF) provide structured Educational Mindfulness Trainings focused on cultivating Justice, Equity, Equality Diversity and Inclusion for a more balanced society that we call JEDI Work!Our MissionTo deliver culturally informed prosocial mindfulness trainings, supervision, consultancy and drop in sessions grounded in the alleviation of identity based harm and social and environmental injustice. We Delivered:- Online Multicultural prosocial focused Mindfulness based community sessions for 6 weeks in attendance by over 50 participants - Online culturally sensitive community sessions for black and people of colour for 6 weeks in attendance of 50 participants - Online culturally informed mindfulness session for HM Prison and & Probation Service -Remembering George Floyd Day with over 100 participants - Online & face to face lunchtime sessions for Plaistow South Big Local service users. This service focused on supporting volunteers, carers, service users and NHS staff at Newham general hospital with approximately 30 attendees over the duration - Online Session Mindfulness Initiative’s Mindful Workplace Community on the relevance of Social Mindfulness to a community of approximately 20 participants representing various businesses and organisations - Online Session for EU residents seeking settled status on behalf of Newham with 5 attendees - Online Social & Cultural Mindfulness Talk at the annual Mindfulness in Schools Project conference with over 300 participants - Online Social Mindfulness weekend for The Sanctuary Ireland in attendance of 20 participants - Online Panel Discussion with This Can Happen project conference – Discussing diversifying Mindfulness to over 100 attendees at the conference - Online Social Mindfulness Session for Social Work Msc and Undergraduate students at the University of Edinburgh with over 20 students attending - Research in Mindfulness as a Social Offering specifically looking at dismantling racism and social inequalities with recommendation to publish - Social media content on platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and youtube to increase connection, perspectives and accessibility - Multicultural supervision and oversight support for project implementing Mindful Action on Whiteness - Online delivery of Mindfulness Based Inclusion Training focused on Dismantling Racism & Social Inequalities Collectively to a collaborative Team awarded to deliver 4 x courses in 2022Next stepsWe endeavour to review, revise and develop our services to ensure those that we reach, serve and work with can connect, learn and practice in ways that continue increasing accessibility and prosocial change.
