NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS |
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST DECEMBER 2021 |
1. | STATUTORY INFORMATION |
Elcoin Ltd is a |
The financial statements are prepared in Pounds Sterling (£), which is the functional currency of the company. Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £. |
2. | STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE |
3. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
Basis of preparing the financial statements |
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. |
At the time of approving the financial statements, the directors have reasonable expectation that the company has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the directors continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements. |
Significant judgements and estimates |
In the application of the company's accounting policies, the directors are required to make judgements, estimates and assumptions about the carrying amount of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent from other sources. The estimates and associated assumptions are based on historical experience and other factors that are considered to be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates. |
The estimates and underlying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions to the accounting estimates are recognised in the period in which the estimate is revised where the revision affects only that period, or in the period of the revision and future periods where the revision affects both current and future periods. |
Turnover |
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. |
Intangible assets |
Intangible assets acquired separately from a business are capitalised at cost. |
Subsequent to initial recognition, intangible assets are stated at cost less accumulated amortisation and accumulated impairment. Intangible assets are amortised on a straight line basis over their estimated useful life. The carrying value of intangible assets is reviewed for impairment if events or changes in circumstances indicate the carrying value may not be recoverable. |
The useful economic lives of intangible assets are as follows: |
Trademark - 10 years. |
Development - 10 years. |
If there are indicators that the residual value or useful life of an intangible asset has changed since the most recent annual reporting period, previous estimates shall be reviewed and, if current expectations differ, the residual value, amortisation method or useful life shall be amended. Changes in the expected useful life or the expected pattern of consumption of benefit shall be accounted for as a change in accounting estimate. |

Tangible fixed assets |
Computer equipment | - |
Tangible fixed assets under the cost model are stated at historical cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Historical cost includes expenditure that is directly attributable to bringing the asset to the location and condition necessary for it to be capable of operating in the manner intended by management. |
The assets' residual values, useful lives and depreciation methods are reviewed and adjusted prospectively if appropriate, or if there is an indication of a significant change since the last reporting date. |
Gains and losses on disposals are determined by comparing the proceeds with the carrying value amount and are recognised in the Income Statement. |
Financial instruments |
The company only enters into basic financial instruments transactions that result in the recognition of financial assets and liabilities like trade and other debtors and creditors. |
Debtors |
Short term debtors are measured at transaction price, less any impairments for bad and doubtful debts. |
Creditors |
Short term creditors are measured at the transaction price. |
Cash and cash equivalents |
Cash is represented by cash in hand and deposits with financial institutions. |
Taxation |
Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |
Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted. |
Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. |
Deferred tax |
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date. |
Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference. |
Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits. |
Foreign currencies |
Assets and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the balance sheet date. Transactions in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rate of exchange ruling at the date of transaction. Exchange differences are taken into account in arriving at the operating result. |
