COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

WHITEHAWK BIKE WORKSHOP CIC

Company Number: 12324647 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 November 2021

Company activities and impact

The company runs a community bike workshop to provide local residents affordable bicycle maintenance facilities. The CIC incorporated in November 2019. In our financial year 2020 to 2021 our activities benefited the community in the following ways:We were able to run the workshop for 48 weeks of the year while keeping in line with Covid restrictions, making the maintaining a reliable service for local residents. We carried out 288 repairs ranging from inflating tyres and oiling chains to wheel, chain, cable, tyre and tube replacements and tuning brakes and gears and riding positions for different riders. We distributed 20 pairs of rechargeable LED lights to make cycling safer for the riders. We offered voluntary opportunities to local residents, allowing them to use, improve and share their skills to benefit the local community.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company's stakeholders are the local residents who ride bicycles, or who want to ride bicycles and need support in choosing, repairing or maintaining bikes. We mainly have return customers but most sessions still sees new customers coming to use the workshop for the first time.Users of the workshop are asked for feedback whenever they use the workshop. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, in fact we received no complaints. Given we are a small operation we cannot hope to carry out all of the repairs that are requested but people are understanding and we are able to signpost them to other services where they can get the work done. The changes that were requested repeatedly were to extend out working hours, either to open for an additional day each week or to open for longer on the day we do open. Unfortunately budget and logistics do not allow us to do this.

Directors' remuneration

The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £6,650.There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
