The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for: |

Basis of preparing the financial statements |
Turnover |
Turnover comprises revenue recognised by the Company in respect of services supplied during the year. Commission and fees are recognised as the work progresses and the right to consideration arises. |
Tangible fixed assets |
Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation. Cost includes the original purchase price and costs directly attributable to bringing the assets to its working conditions for its intended use. |
Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life. |
Office equipment - 25% Straight line |
The assets' residual values, useful lives and depreciation methods are reviewed, and adjusted prospectively if appropriate, or if there is an indication of a significant change since the last reporting date. |
Gains and losses on disposals are determined by comparing the proceeds with the carrying amount and are recognised in profit and loss. |
Government grants |
Grants of a revenue nature are recognised in the Statement of Income and Retained Earnings in the same period as the related expenditure. Grants are shown gross of this expenditure. |
Financial instruments |
Financial instruments are classified by directors as basic or non-basic following the conditions on FRS 102 Section 11. Basic financial instruments are initially measured at transaction price and subsequently recognised at amortised cost using the effective interest method. The company does not have any financial non-basic instruments. |
Taxation |
Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |
Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted. |
Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. |

Deferred tax |
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date. |
Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference. |
Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits. |
Foreign currencies |
Assets and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the balance sheet date. Transactions in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rate of exchange ruling at the date of transaction. Exchange differences are taken into account in arriving at the operating result. |

8. | RELATED PARTY TRANSACTIONS |
During the year the Company made sales of £381,075 (2020: £320,613) to Vidigal Wines SA, the parent company. Included within Trade debtors is £128,246 (2020: £113,663) due from the parent company, Vidigal Wines SA. |
At the year end, the company owed £4,300 (2020: £4,300) to Bincellar Limited, a company incorporated in Ireland and controlled by two directors of the Company. |
9. | ULTIMATE CONTROLLING PARTY |
The parent company is Vidigal Wines SA, which is incorporated in Portugal. The ultimate controlling party is A M Lopez. The registered office is Rua de Alcobaca, Edificio Antigo Colegio Correia Mateus, 9, 2400 086, Leiria. |
