Company activities and impact

The Company has been able to work with and support people suffering from mental health and social exclusion during and post COVID 19 lockdown by continuing to pilot and deliver music therapy programmes to adults and young people struggling with complex mental health issues. Emphasis has been given to song writing, recording and live performance to boost people’s confidence, reduce isolation and help people achieve agency, health and well-being.

Consultation with stakeholders

In the year to 31 August 2021 feedback from C.R.E.W ,( Project 2) at Galaxy House has informed the delivery of a new programme C.R.E.W 3, incorporating collaborations with the Royal Northern College of Music, which has been delivered to Galaxy House. This has led to confirmation of funds from NHS Charities together which has been awarded to OM to deliver an exciting new adult programme ‘OPEN MINDS ‘ integrating Music, ART and Drama therapy for BEH at St Ann’s Hospital in Haringey. Evaluations and feedback reports relating to OM’S work has begun to generate interest in academic institutions with the delivery of regular presentations by OM to students at Bristol University.Feedback from participants, family, friends and clinicians outlining OM’S achievements has continued to build OM’s presence as a valuable provider in the mental health community, turning OMCIC into a growing, sustainable and reputable innovative provider of therapy and support to clients suffering from complex mental health issues
