Basis of preparing the financial statements |
Turnover |
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. |
Investment property |
Investment property is shown at most recent valuation. Any aggregate surplus or deficit arising from changes in fair value is recognised in profit or loss. |
Taxation |
Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |
Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted. |
Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. |
Deferred tax |
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date. |
Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. 8. | RELATED PARTY DISCLOSURES |
During the year, management charges were paid to Newburgh Holdings Limited totalling £5,000 (2019 - £32,500). As at 31 March 2020 the company owed £5,652 (2019- £30,649) to Newburgh Holdings Limited. V.S. Middleton is a director of Newburgh Holdings Limited. |
As at 31 March 2020 the company was owed £nil (2019 -£1,333) from Hope Valley Industrial Limited. A. J. F. Harrison and V.S. Middleton are directors of Hope Valley Industrial Limited. |
During the year, management charges were paid to Nuclear Energy Components Limited totalling £30,000 (2019 - £nil). V.S. Middleton is a director of Nuclear Energy Components Limited. |
During the previous year, the loan owed by Newburgh Precision Limited totalling £140,000 was written off as the company became insolvent.The ultimate controlling party of Newburgh Precision Limited is the Trustees of the I Middleton Settlement. |
9. | POST BALANCE SHEET EVENTS |
During the year the company sold all of the investment property held. The company ceased to trade on 31 March 2020. The plans are to wind up and close the company. |
