In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Companies Act 2006, we have prepared for your approval the accounts of Sella-Askus Engineering Limited for the year ended 30 November 2019 as set out on pages 3 to 7 from the company's accounting records and from information and explanations you have given us.

This report is made solely to the Board of Directors of Sella-Askus Engineering Limited, as a body, in accordance with the terms of our engagement letter dated 9 June 2013. Our work has been undertaken solely to prepare for your approval the accounts of Sella-Askus Engineering Limited and state those matters that we have agreed to state to the Board of Directors of Sella-Askus Engineering Limited, as a body, in this report in accordance with ICAEW Technical Release 07/16 AAF. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than Sella-Askus Engineering Limited and its Board of Directors as a body for our work or for this report.
It is your duty to ensure that Sella-Askus Engineering Limited has kept adequate accounting records and to prepare statutory accounts that give a true and fair view of the assets, liabilities, financial position and profit of Sella-Askus Engineering Limited. These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the special provisions relating to companies subject to the small companies regime within Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006.
These financial statements have been delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime and the option not to file the Profit and Loss Account has been taken.
All of the company’s members have consented to the preparation of an Abridged Balance Sheet in accordance with Section 444(2A) of the Companies Act 2006.

Summary of significant accounting policies and key accounting estimates
The principal accounting policies applied in the preparation of these financial statements are set out below. These policies have been consistently applied to all the years presented, unless otherwise stated.
Statement of compliance
These abridged financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 Section 1A - 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland' and the Companies Act 2006.
Basis of preparation
These abridged financial statements have been prepared using the historical cost convention. The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the entity.
Revenue recognition
Revenue comprises the fair value of the sale of goods and services net of value added tax, rebates and discounts. Sales of goods are recognised when the company has delivered the goods to the customer.
Tangible assets
Tangible assets are stated in the balance sheet at cost, less any subsequent accumulated depreciation and subsequent accumulated impairment losses.

Depreciation is charged so as to write off the cost of assets over their estimated useful lives, as follows:

Stocks
Stocks are measured at the lower of cost and estimated selling price less costs to complete and sell. Costs include all costs of purchase, costs of conversion and other costs incurred in bringing the stock to its present location and condition.

Leases
Leases in which substantially all the risks and rewards of ownership are retained by the lessor are classified as operating leases. Payments made under operating leases are charged to profit or loss on a straight-line basis over the period of the lease.
