COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT
TEES VALLEY INCLUSION PROJECT CIC
Company Number: 07882456 (England and Wales)
Year Ending: 31 December 2019
Our victim support model has seen an increase in demand, in response we have reviewed our service model to anticipate crisis management. This has enabled us to apply for grant funding to secure additional case work and increase the capacity to focus on the victims journey; from disclosure to support intervention and after-care, emotional and well-being programmes. We have invested our time to develop training tools which include "Halo Exhale"-trauma-informed programmes to help with the impact of forced marriage, FGM, HBV and illegal cultural harms. The Halo Hope Empowerment tool is also enabling women and children to recover, understand the risks of abuse within the home and seek early intervention. Tools, e-learning and web-based applications have been developed and we are keen to ensure wider engagement with our University programmes which engages young people. This year we have extended our "Halo Hubs" to Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside. Education programmes are essential to our prevention of abuse, the programmes within University have provided training and awareness to over 1200 students. Our BAME specialist refuge is providing emergency accomodation to women and children
Our consultation with our service users remain paramount to our core delivery model, as such we are engaging with the wider BAME community on issues such as modern-slavery, exploitation and extremism. We are engaging with refugee and asylum seeker groups and networks and linked into community safety groups across the North East of England. TVIP continue to engage and consult with Police, CPS and safeguarding/domestic abuse leads in all the Tees Valley local authority areas. The work this year has provided our team with closer engagement with faith and religious groups as well as women only safe places, this has enable us to lead the work with Cleveland Women's Network on survivor engagement, where we held a joint focus group with survivors from across the sub-region. The outcome is to identify key actions/priorities for victims and to help them be part of the solution, with the view to provide a coherent service improvement plan.
