Director's responsibilities

The member has not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006. -
The director acknowledges his responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts. -
These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies' regime. - The company has taken advantage of section 444(1) of the Companies Act 2006 and opted not to deliver to the registrar a copy of the company's Profit and Loss Account.

1.
Accounting Policies
1.1.
Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" of Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Companies Act 2006. The finacial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
1.2.
Turnover
Turnover represents the revenue generated from the sale of goods and services. Revenue is measured at the fair value of the consideration received and receivable excluding value added tax.
Sales of goods are recognised when the company has delivered the products to the customer and the customer has accepted the products. Revenue from services is recognised when services have been provided and the contractual right to the consideration has been earned. For incomplete contracts an assessment is made of the extent to which revenue has been earned.
1.3.
Intangible Fixed Assets and Amortisation - Goodwill
Goodwill, being the amount paid in connection with the acquisition of a business in 2003, is being amortised evenly over its estimated useful life of ten years.
1.4.
Tangible Fixed Assets and Depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses
Depreciation is provided at following annual rate sin order to write off the cost of the fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following bases:

1.5.
Leasing and Hire Purchase Contracts
Assets obtained under hire purchase contracts or finance leases are capitalised in the balance sheet. Those held under hire purchase contracts are depreciated over their estimated useful lives. Those held under finance leases are depreciated over their estimated useful lives or the lease term, whichever is the shorter with a full charge on the year of acquisition.
The interest element of these obligations is charged to the profit and loss account over the relevant period. The capital element of the future payments is treated as a liability.
Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to the profit and loss account on a straight line basis over the period of the lease.

Taxation
Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the profit and loss account, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income.
Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted.
Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date.
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.
Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference.
Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits.

Pensions
The company operates a defined pension contribution scheme. Contributions are charged to the profit and loss account as they become payable in accordance with the rules of the scheme.

Related Party Transactions
During the year, total dividends of £22,000 (2018 - £7,000) were paid to the director.
The company is controlled jointly by Mr M Williams, director, and his wife, Mrs D Williams, who own 100% of the voting share capital equally.
