Community Interest Annual Report

Company activities and impact

The company operates in Toxteth, Liverpool, with a particular emphasis on improving integration in local communities, enhancing opportunities for work and education for individuals and their families, especially for refugees and asylum seekers in the community. The business commenced in May 2018. During the financial year 2018-2019, the business’s activities have benefited the community in the following ways: Community art and cultural events, free of charge for the local community, to promote and celebrate cultural integration:- 8th-9th February 2019 ‘Who Sees Me?’ Art Exhibition by Prado Neto - 9th February 2019 Musical Performance by Joao Terra- 24th-25th August 2018 Art Exhibition entitled ‘Love Your Neighbor’ by various artists - 25th August 2018 Musical Performance by Lorena Chavez - 27th-28th April 2018 Indian Street Photography Exhibition by Filipe Aires - 6th-7th February 2018 ‘Refugees’ Art Exhibition by Thiago Thal - 8th February 2018 Musical Performance by Lorena Chavez Training Courses for Entrepreneurs and Business Builders looking to start new social enterprises and small businesses were held on 21st-24th May 2018 and 13th-17th May 2019.

Consultation with stakeholders

The CICs stakeholders include:- Directors, senior management volunteers, advisory board, are regularly consulted via board meetings and correspondence.- Informal consultations are ongoing via connections with local churches and community projects, local Iranian pastors and community leaders.No specific action has been taken this year.
