| Accounting convention |
| The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the |
| Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008). |
| Turnover |
| Turnover represents net invoiced sales of goods net of refunds, excluding value added tax. The company recognises |
| turnover when the goods are dispatched. |
| Intangible fixed assets and amortisation |
| Patents are capitalised as intangible fixed assets at cost. Patents are amortised when they have been granted over |
| their expected useful lives of 10 years. |
